Adoption is the legal process by which the relationship of parent and child is created by order of the Court.  Its effect imposes Parental Rights and Responsibilities in relation to the child in the adoptive

Parents. An adopted child is treated in law as the child of the adopter, as if he or she had never been the child of any person other than the adoptive parents.
